What is Articulate 360
Articulate 360 is a subscription suite for creating and maintaining digital learning content, including slide-based courses, interactive modules, and assessments. It is used by instructional designers, L&D teams, and training vendors to build SCORM/xAPI/AICC-compliant content for delivery through an LMS or other learning platforms. The suite combines desktop authoring (Storyline 360) with web-based authoring (Rise 360) and includes a content library and review workflow to support collaboration and iteration.

The suite includes multiple tools for different course formats, notably a desktop tool for complex interactions and a web tool for responsive, template-driven modules. More complex interactivity and fine-grained control often require Storyline 360, which is a desktop application. This can limit fully browser-based development workflows and may complicate environments with strict device management or non-Windows/macOS constraints. Teams seeking entirely web-native authoring may find the split toolchain adds operational overhead.
Content governance can be manual
Managing large libraries of courses across many authors can require additional internal processes for naming conventions, reuse, and lifecycle management. While the suite supports collaboration and review, it is not a dedicated content management system with robust governance, permissions, and reuse at scale.
