Forest Pack

Forest Pack uses instancing workflows to place and manage very high object counts without requiring each object to be unique geometry. This helps keep scene files and memory usage more manageable than manual duplication approaches. It is well-suited to exterior archviz scenes where vegetation density is high. The approach aligns with common production needs where interactive scene navigation matters as much as final output.

The plugin provides rule-based distribution controls (e.g., by areas, splines, surfaces, and exclusion zones) to place objects consistently across a scene. This reduces repetitive manual placement and supports iterative design changes. Users can adjust density, scale, rotation, and randomization parameters to achieve variation. These controls support repeatable results across shots and design revisions.

Forest Pack operates inside Autodesk 3ds Max and fits typical archviz/VFX pipelines that already rely on Max scenes, materials, and modifiers. It supports common workflows such as using existing geometry as distribution surfaces and working with Max’s scene organization. This reduces the need to move assets into a separate application for scattering. It also benefits teams that standardize on Max-based toolchains for modeling and rendering.
