What is NetBox
NetBox is an open-source infrastructure resource modeling (IRM) and IP address management (IPAM) application used to document and manage data center and network assets. It helps network and infrastructure teams maintain an authoritative inventory of devices, racks, circuits, IP space, VLANs, and related relationships. As an open-source application, NetBox is commonly self-hosted, which adds responsibilities for upgrades, backups, security patching, and scaling. Plugin compatibility and version changes can introduce additional testing effort during upgrades.
