What is Tines
Tines is a workflow automation platform used to orchestrate security and IT operations processes across third-party tools and services. It is commonly used by security operations, incident response, and IT teams to automate alert triage, enrichment, ticketing, notifications, and response actions. The product centers on building event-driven workflows (“stories”) that connect APIs and services, with an emphasis on human-in-the-loop steps and auditability for operational processes.
Broad API-based integrations

Automation requires upkeep
API-driven workflows depend on third-party endpoints, schemas, and authentication that can change over time. Teams should plan for monitoring, versioning, and periodic maintenance of integrations and playbooks. Without ownership and documentation, automation can become brittle as toolsets evolve.
Data integration is operational
While Tines can move and transform data for workflows, it is not primarily a data integration platform for large-scale ELT/ETL, modeling, or analytics pipelines. Organizations with heavy warehouse/lakehouse integration needs may require separate data integration tooling. Using Tines for high-volume data movement can be less appropriate than purpose-built data pipeline systems.
