Plan & Pricing
Pricing model: Pay-as-you-go Free tier/trial: No time-limited trial for Turo itself; creating an account / listing is available without a subscription (see notes). Guests pay per-trip prices set by hosts; hosts choose protection plans that change the host revenue split and deductibles. Example costs / items found on Turo’s official site:
-
Host protection plans (US) — revenue split & deductibles (protection for trips booked on/after Jan 7):
- Max protect plan: Host keeps 70% of trip price; $250 deductible; Turo pays eligible damage costs above deductible; up to $750,000 third-party liability.
- Balanced plan: Host keeps 80% of trip price; $1,500 deductible; up to $750,000 third-party liability.
- Max earn plan: Host keeps 90% of trip price; $2,750 deductible; up to $750,000 third-party liability.
-
Off-trip (between-bookings) insurance for hosts (partnered product marketed on Turo - Tint): premiums begin at $56/month per vehicle for liability-only plans and $89/month per vehicle for liability + damage (final price depends on selected coverages and risk factors). Monthly billing.
-
Guest charges: Trip price — set by the host (dynamic); plus a Trip fee (percentage added by Turo and calculated at checkout, varies dynamically), optional Protection plan fee (if guest selects it), Airport fees (collected/ remitted where applicable), Extras (host-set add-ons), Delivery fees (host-set), and duration discounts if offered by host. No fixed, platform-wide per-day rental rate published.
-
Partner offers (on Turo’s site): Example — Standard Fleet (vehicle-management software) listed on Turo’s Deals & discounts page offers a four-week free trial and a discount for hosts (this is a partner offer, not a Turo subscription). Discounts / notes:
-
Hosts can set duration discounts (weekly/monthly) and non-refundable rate discounts; Trip fees and pricing use dynamic algorithms. Hosts are paid via Stripe; no paid host subscription is required to list vehicles. Key limitations / missing items:
-
Turo does not publish a platform-wide minimum trip price or fixed per-day rates — trip prices are set by individual hosts. Turo’s Trip fee percentage is described as dynamic and is not published as a fixed percentage on the site.
