What is WatchGuard AuthPoint
WatchGuard AuthPoint is a cloud-managed multi-factor authentication (MFA) product used to add step-up authentication to VPNs, web applications, and Windows/macOS logins. It targets small to mid-sized organizations and managed service providers that want centralized MFA policy management and user provisioning. Features commonly expected for consumer-facing identity (such as extensive developer-focused CIAM tooling, progressive profiling, and large-scale customer journey customization) are not its primary focus. For B2C/B2B2C scenarios, teams may need a dedicated CIAM platform. This can increase architectural complexity when both workforce and customer identity are in scope.
Integration coverage varies by app
While RADIUS and SAML cover many common use cases, application compatibility depends on the target system’s support for these standards or available connectors. Some legacy or niche applications may require custom configuration or may not be supported without additional components.
