Operational overhead at scale
Running and maintaining the monitoring stack (servers, upgrades, backups, and distributed sites) introduces ongoing operational work, especially for large estates. Tuning checks, thresholds, and notifications can require sustained effort to avoid alert fatigue. Plugin and agent management across many endpoints can also add complexity. Log analytics not primary focus
Checkmk includes event and log-related capabilities through integrations and add-ons, but it is not typically positioned as a primary log analytics platform. Organizations that require high-volume log ingestion, long retention, and advanced search/analytics may need a dedicated log management system. This can increase total solution complexity and cost.
