What is CloudEndure Migration
CloudEndure Migration is an agent-based workload migration tool used to move physical or virtual servers into cloud environments with minimal downtime. It continuously replicates block-level changes from source machines to a staging area and orchestrates cutover to target instances. Continuous block-level replication
The product replicates changes at the block level from source machines, which supports low-RPO migration scenarios. This approach reduces the amount of data that must be re-copied during cutover compared with file-based transfer methods. This breadth is a practical advantage over tools focused mainly on SaaS tenant-to-tenant content moves.

The product includes automation for launching target instances and executing cutover steps, which helps standardize migrations across many servers. Teams can schedule and run test migrations to validate performance and configuration before final cutover. This reduces manual runbooks and operational variance across waves. It is typically used by IT teams that need repeatable processes rather than ad-hoc transfers.
AWS-centric positioning
CloudEndure Migration is primarily associated with AWS migration workflows and is not positioned as a general-purpose, multi-cloud migration platform. Organizations targeting multiple public clouds may need additional tooling or different products for non-AWS destinations. This can increase process fragmentation across cloud programs. It is less aligned with scenarios where the destination is a SaaS platform rather than infrastructure.
Not a full backup platform
Although it performs continuous replication, it is designed for migration rather than long-term backup retention, compliance archiving, or rich backup policy management. Features such as immutable storage, multi-year retention, and granular restore workflows are typically handled by dedicated backup products. Using it as a backup substitute can leave gaps in governance and recovery operations. Teams often pair it with separate backup and DR tooling after migration.
Operational overhead at scale
Agent-based replication requires deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management of agents across source servers. Large migrations can require careful planning for staging resources, network throughput, and change management. Troubleshooting replication lag or cutover issues can be complex in environments with constrained bandwidth or unstable hosts. This overhead can be higher than simpler file-transfer services for straightforward data moves.
