What is Gatheround
Gatheround is a browser-based platform for running facilitated group sessions such as team-building activities, workshops, and community events. It is used by people teams, internal facilitators, and event hosts to structure agendas with interactive activities and guide participants through them in real time. The product combines video, prompts, and activity modules in a single session flow so hosts do not need to stitch together multiple tools during a live event.
Facilitated session flow
Gatheround centers on host-led sessions with an agenda that moves participants through activities step by step. This structure supports repeatable team rituals such as onboarding cohorts, retrospectives, and offsites. Compared with generic polling or quiz tools, it is oriented toward multi-activity experiences rather than single-question interactions.
Interactive activity templates
The platform provides built-in activities (for example, prompts, small-group interactions, and collaborative exercises) that reduce the need to design everything from scratch. Templates help standardize delivery across different facilitators and teams. This can be useful for HR and people operations teams that run similar sessions across departments.
Browser-based participant access
Participants typically join via a web link, which lowers friction for distributed teams and external guests. Keeping video and activities in one place can simplify facilitation and reduce context switching during live sessions. This approach can be easier to administer than coordinating separate meeting and engagement tools.
Not a full talent suite
While it can support learning, onboarding, and engagement sessions, Gatheround does not function as a system of record for talent management. It is not designed to manage performance cycles, compensation, recruiting workflows, or HRIS data. Organizations looking for end-to-end talent management typically need additional systems.
Live facilitation dependency
The product’s value is highest in synchronous, facilitator-led sessions. Teams that prefer asynchronous engagement, self-paced training, or lightweight pulse interactions may find it less aligned to their operating model. Successful use also depends on facilitator preparation and session design.
Limited analytics for HR outcomes
Session engagement features do not necessarily translate into robust measurement of talent outcomes (for example, skill progression or performance impact). Reporting is generally oriented around running sessions rather than workforce analytics. HR teams may need separate survey, analytics, or learning systems to quantify longer-term impact.
