Requires backup software pairing
QoreStor is primarily a backup storage target, so it depends on external backup software for scheduling, policy management, and restore workflows. This means capabilities such as SaaS application backup, endpoint backup, or VM-native protection are not provided by QoreStor alone. The overall recovery experience and feature set vary based on the backup application used. Procurement and support may also span multiple vendors.
Infrastructure and tuning overhead
As a software-defined repository, QoreStor requires sizing, deployment, and ongoing administration (compute, storage, networking, and performance tuning). Achieving expected ingest and restore performance can depend on hardware configuration and workload characteristics. This can be more operationally demanding than fully managed cloud backup services. Organizations with limited infrastructure staff may prefer a more turnkey managed offering.
