What is UiPath Process Mining
UiPath Process Mining is a process mining and process intelligence product that analyzes event logs from enterprise systems to discover, visualize, and measure end-to-end business processes. It is used by process owners, continuous improvement teams, and automation teams to identify bottlenecks, variants, and automation opportunities and to monitor outcomes over time. The product is designed to connect process analysis with automation execution by integrating with UiPath’s broader automation platform and orchestration capabilities.
Tight automation platform integration
The product integrates with UiPath automation components, which helps teams move from process discovery to automation design and deployment within a single vendor ecosystem. This can reduce handoffs between process analysis and RPA implementation teams. It also supports using mining insights to prioritize automation candidates and track post-automation impact using the same data model.
End-to-end process visibility
UiPath Process Mining supports discovery of actual process flows and variants from event data rather than relying only on workshops or documentation. It provides process maps and performance metrics that help quantify cycle times, rework, and compliance deviations. This is useful for high-volume back-office processes such as procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and service operations.
Dashboards for monitoring outcomes
The product includes analytics views that can be used to monitor process KPIs and changes over time. This supports continuous improvement use cases where teams need to validate whether interventions (including automation) reduce delays or exceptions. It can also help standardize reporting across business units by using consistent event-log-based measures.
Data preparation can be heavy
Process mining depends on high-quality event logs with consistent case IDs, activity names, and timestamps. Many organizations need significant ETL work to extract and normalize data from ERP/CRM and custom systems before analysis is reliable. Ongoing maintenance is often required when source systems change or when new variants must be modeled.
Best fit in UiPath stack
While the product can be used for process analysis on its own, its strongest execution linkage is to UiPath’s automation tooling. Organizations with heterogeneous automation stacks may not realize the same end-to-end workflow from discovery to implementation. This can increase integration effort if automation execution occurs primarily outside the UiPath ecosystem.
Requires process mining expertise
Interpreting variants, conformance results, and root-cause drivers typically requires trained analysts and clear governance. Without agreed definitions of cases, activities, and KPIs, stakeholders may dispute findings or draw incorrect conclusions. Teams often need enablement to translate insights into actionable change and measurable benefits.
Plan & Pricing
Pricing model: Pay-as-you-go (Unified Pricing) — Process Mining consumes Platform Units (consumption-based).
Free tier/trial: Trial licenses available via UiPath Account Manager / Sales (see notes).
Example costs / metering details (official):
- 1 Platform Unit = 625 event-log rows (metering conversion).
- Initial data-load charge: 1600 Platform Units are charged the first time data is loaded to a tenant; this initial allocation permits loading up to 1,000,000 rows for the next 12 months.
- Process Mining consumes Platform Units based on the number of visualized event-log rows and other Unified-Pricing metering rules (Platform Units are also consumed by cloud machines, serverless runtimes, etc.).
Notes / next steps:
- UiPath does not publish a dollar price per Platform Unit or a Process Mining list price on its public product docs or pricing page. Monetary rates and total cost depend on negotiated Platform Units or platform plan (Standard/Enterprise); contact UiPath Sales or your UiPath Account Manager for pricing and trial-license arrangements.
- Process Mining can be enabled only if your Automation Cloud organization is on a Standard or Enterprise platform plan and has available Platform Units (>0).
